Club de Alto Rendimiento Especializado Independiente del Valle, who are they?

Club de Alto Rendimiento Especializado Independiente del Valle, more commonly known as Independiente del Valle, are an Ecuadorian club that have attracted a lot of attention in recent years. They haven’t been in Serie A for long; their first season in the top division was in 2010, but they have quickly earned their place among the giants of Ecuadorian football.

Their first major achievement came in 2021 when they were crowned Serie A champions, and that was just the beginning. They also added the 2022 Copa Ecuador and the 2023 Supercopa de Ecuador to their trophy cabinet.

Independiente del Valle have also achieved notable success in continental competition. They have won the Copa Sudamericana twice, in 2019 and 2022, and claimed the Recopa Sudamericana (the CONMEBOL Super Cup played between the winners of the previous year’s Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana ) in 2023. Furthermore, they made history by reaching the final of the Copa Libertadores in 2016 and finishing as runners-up, as well as in the 2020 Recopa Sudamericana.
